School of Education Programs Near Accreditation

(San Diego, Calif. – Oct. 5, 2010) – On Sept. 27, Point Loma Nazarene University School of Education’s Master of Arts in special education had its substantive change review, the last step in the accreditation process, with the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). The master’s program was given interim approval, now being able to move forward with advertising and marketing the program. The degree was previously a master’s in education with a concentration in special education.

The School of Education’s school counseling program also fulfilled its program assessment standards and is awaiting final approval for accreditation upon the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) site visit scheduled for spring 2012.
