The United States Navy: PLNU was here
Jessica Womack (’09)
The United States Navy has been protecting and promoting the freedoms and ideals of our nation for more than 200 years. Through the sacrifice and service of countless Americans and the use of cutting-edge technology, the Navy makes a significant difference in our world as a “global force for good.”
Standing behind the Navy is Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), a FORTUNE 500® company.
And PLNU is there.
Jessica Womack (’09) is a systems engineer with SAIC. Her current project is called Integrated Shipboard Network System (ISNS), which is on all naval ships. Essentially, she helps ensure that shipboard software and hardware work together smoothly and seamlessly. It’s an important job and one she enjoys.
Womack began working at SAIC as an intern immediately after she graduated from PLNU after a recruiter spoke in her senior seminar class. She began as part of the Joint Network Management System (JNMS) project. The United States Army was the client of JNMS. Because of her exceptional work, her boss decided to hire her full time a few months later.
