Dr. Marsden is the Francis A. McAnaney Professor of History at the University of Notre Dame, Indiana.
He received his B.A. from Haverford College in 1959, a D.D. from Westminster Theological Seminary in 1963, and an M.A. in 1960 and Ph.D. in 1965 from Yale University. His primary academic interests have been in the history of the interaction of Christianity and American culture. His major areas of study have concerned American evangelicalism and the role of Christianity in American higher education.
Before joining Notre Dame in 1992, Dr. Marsden taught at Calvin College, Duke University, the University of California at Berkeley, and St. Andrews University in Scotland.
He has published numerous works, such as:Fundamentalism and American Culture; Jonathan Edwards: A Life; The Outrageous Idea of Christian Scholarship; The Soul of American University: From Protestant Establishment to Established Nonbelief; and Understanding Fundamentalism and Evangelicalism

Dr. Ingersol has been denominational archivist for the Church of the Nazarene since 1985.
The Nazarene archives, located at the Church’s international center in Kansas City, are the largest repository of material on the Nazarenes.
A church historian by training, Dr. Ingersol is a graduate of Bethany Nazarene College, the University of Kansas, Nazarene Theological Seminary, and Duke University.
He is married to the Rev. Cheryl Somers-Ingersol, a United Methodist pastor in Overland Park, Kansas. They are the parents of two children, Rachel and Robert.
