Jessica Matthews, M.S., E-RYT500

Jessica Matthews is an industry-leading health and fitness educator. As a seasoned yoga teacher and innovative college professor, she has developed and implemented comprehensive 200- and 500-hour yoga teacher training programs at the college level in addition to teaching a variety of health and exercise science courses ranging from applied kinesiology and health and lifestyles to exercise leadership and fitness assessments. A sought-after and trusted media resource, Matthews regularly contributes to numerous publications and media outlets, including CNN, The Washington Post, Women’s Health, Men’s Fitness, The New York Times, and NPR.

As founder and president of Integrative Wellness Education, Inc., Matthews delivers keynote speeches, lectures, and workshops at conferences and events worldwide, including courses in the areas of health coaching, behavior change, mind-body exercise, and professional development in the field of health and fitness. She also serves as senior advisor for health and fitness education for the American Council on Exercise (ACE), developing and delivering educational content in the form of textbooks, articles, videos, and online courses. Additionally, she is the lead author and editor of ACE Group Fitness Instructor Handbook: The Professional’s Guide to Creating Memorable Movement Experiences and Stretching to Stay Young.

A certified health coach, personal trainer, and group fitness instructor as well as an experienced registered yoga teacher (E-RYT 500) and trained stand-up paddleboard (SUP) yoga instructor, Matthews is currently completing a doctorate in behavioral health with a focus on clinical integrated care through Arizona State University. Her research interests include health coaching, integrative medicine, and mindfulness-based interventions.
