Michael McConnell, Ph.D.

Professor Emeritus of Biology

Dr. Michael McConnell taught biology and chemistry at PLNU from 1978 through 2014. The biology summer research program he established in 1979 has operated for 38 consecutive summers, giving 600+ PLNU undergraduates an opportunity to engage in original research. Although retired, McConnell continues working with alumni (Research Associates), San Diego County science teachers (Perspectives on Science), and undergraduate research mentors nationwide (West Coast Biological Sciences Undergraduate Research Conference). He also serves as a liaison for PLNU with CONNECT and BIOCOM, two organizations that promote the growth and economic health of San Diego.
