Raquel Aparicio

Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions

Where is home to you?

Home is where my heart is, therefore Nicaragua where I was born and raised and San Diego where I have lived since 2000.

What did you study in college?

B.A. in psychology and M.A. in education.

Can you tell us a little about your pets?

I don't have any pets. I do have four children, including a 25-year-old named Dot and a 14-year-old named Paco — who are beautiful blue and gold macaws. I also have a 6-year-old human child named Gabriela and a 3-year-old named Anabel. My kids are super energetic, loud, and unique, which I love.

If you had to change one thing about your time as a PLNU student, what
would you change?

My biggest regret in my 4 years at Loma was not taking advantage of the study abroad or Loveworks programs. I always had the desire to go to Africa on a mission trip but didn't get the chance until Loma. Sadly, dad was overprotective and didn't let me go. I wish I would have gone.
