What did you study in college?
Philosophy and Theology here at PLNU in the School of Theology and Christian Ministry.
If you had to change one thing about your time as a PLNU student, what would you change?
I love to learn. I would have chosen to double major or minor in psychology because those classes fascinate me!
What piece of advice would you give to someone who's choosing a college?
I would encourage people who are looking at colleges to look at the community life a school has to offer. The ability to be involved on campus and be around a tight-knit, positive community is crucial for a well-rounded, positive college experience. Along those same lines, I would advise someone to look at a school that has small classroom sizes. In my experience, smaller class sizes encourage community development and promote deeper learning.
What was your favorite class as a PLNU student?
I am torn between two favorite classes. I absolutely loved my capstone philosophy class. In true Socratic style, our class dove into topics like race, gender, politics, power structures, and language. I also loved my child & adolescent psychology class. There I learned so much about the brain and how it develops from birth to adulthood. I felt it really equipped me to be a parent someday and gave me practical ways to relate to kids better.
What do you enjoy doing in San Diego?
This city is a magical place to explore! I love to hike the local mountains, run on Coronado beach, and go read or have meaningful conversations with friends at local coffee shops.
