JC Hurtado-Prater joined PLNU in 2020 as an adjunct faculty member in the Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership program in the College of Extended Learning. A veteran of the United States Army, JC came to PLNU with nearly 20 years of government, non-profit executive, management consulting and pastoral leadership experience. He is passionate about developing the next generation of leaders through the avenue of higher education.
When JC is not teaching at PLNU, he adds value to organizational leaders and managers by writing books, speaking and serving as principal consultant for JC Consulting, a global organizational development consulting firm that helps senior executives and Human Resource leaders create healthy cultures and develop high-performing teams.
JC studied History at UCLA and is currently working on completing his dissertation in the Human Resource Development doctoral program at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His research interests include the exploration of the intersection of faith, leadership and organizational culture.
JC is deeply involved in the San Diego community, serving on the boards of directors for South Bay Community Services, the Chancellor’s Community Advisory Board for the University of California, San Diego and the Southwestern College Foundation.
