Tonia Herndon joined PLNU in 2015 as adjunct faculty and a curriculum builder for courses in the Organizational Leadership and Nursing tracts. She is currently Lead Faculty for the MRD3003 course and greatly enjoys co-creating the learning experience with her students and fellow faculty. Tonia also has a background in doing deep transformational work within the community though her involvement in life and business coaching, executive leadership development training, conducting small claims court mediations at Kearny Mesa and El Cajon courthouses in San Diego, and working with refugees in various empowering capacities. Tonia holds a doctorate degree from University of Missouri Saint Louis in Educational Practices & Leadership emphasizing an interest in applying social emotional competencies into the meaning making process. She is also involved in several community programs that examine issues pertaining to social justice, sustainability, and participatory culture in the hopes to bring awareness and action to important social movements.
