Where are you from?
I'm from the Midwest, a famous town called Dodge City, Kansas.
What did you study in college?
I began college wanting to become a high school teacher, so I studied in the area of education. After my first two years of school, I decided I wanted to pursue a degree in Christian ministry and graduated from PLNU's School of Theology and Christian Ministry.
What do you enjoy doing in San Diego?
I enjoy spending afternoons in Balboa Park. There are a variety of activities to engage in — and a lot of things are FREE! The best part about the park is getting to walk around and check out all the scenery. Each Tuesday, a selection of museums are free for San Diego residents, so it's a great time to go explore and not have to spend anything!
What piece of advice would you give to someone who's choosing a college?
Talk to people. Don't just look at a brochure and base the next four years of your life off what a little pamphlet says. Talk to current students and faculty to get an idea of what your undergraduate years might be like. Enjoy the experience of visiting colleges and dreaming of new possibilities!
What is your advice for students visiting campus?
Make the most of your visit! In addition to touring our beautiful campus, attend a class or meet with a professor in your department of interest. And if possible, plan a time to stay overnight. Staying in the residence halls will give you a sense of what life is like on campus, and what you can expect here at PLNU.
