Alumni Events

Each year, our PLNU Alumni Association hosts events in various cities across the U.S.

We appreciate the times you have visited the PLNU main campus in San Diego, but now we're coming to you! Together we’ve enjoyed sporting events, concerts, hot air balloon festivals, and backyard barbeques in cities all over the nation. These gatherings provide spaces for fellowship, reminiscing, professional networking, and sharing the exciting new things happening in our personal lives and within the university.

Annual Alumni Events

Tuition Freedom Day

At PLNU, tuition covers approximately 76 percent of a student's education costs. Gifts from alumni and other donors, churches, foundations, corporations, and other revenue sources cover the additional 24 percent of a student's education costs. Tuition Freedom Day is hosted each year to raise awareness among students and alumni about the crucial impact others have made in our lives by giving to our education.

Green4Gold

Green4Gold is the day to show your PLNU spirit, invest in the future, and make a lasting impact in just a few minutes. It’s our annual 24-hour giving campaign! In 2016, on one day, across 143 cities and 23 states, the PLNU family came together and gave $106,317!

Events for Graduating Seniors

Each spring, the Alumni Association works with a committee of graduating seniors to host two events just for our graduating class!

In March, seniors can enjoy an outdoor dessert reception at sunset on our very own alumni lawn and receive important information about graduation day. On the Thursday before Commencement, seniors and their families enjoy a dinner event honoring our graduates! It is often the last time students will be in the same room with all their friends.

Dr. John Reynolds

When he was 17, Dr. John Reynolds (03) waited eagerly backstage in a venue in Santa Rosa after a performance by the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra. He stood in a line of fellow trumpet players about to meet Wynton Marsalis, the famed trumpeter, composer, and teacher. When it was finally his turn to have Marsalis share his autograph, Reynolds took the opportunity to wrest a bit of advice on playing his instrument more effectively, not exactly sure what to expect.
