Program Overview

Are sports and the arena of competition somewhere you thrive? Do you love a particular sport and desire to teach it to others? If so, a minor in athletic coaching could be a great complement to your career goals.

Pursuing a minor in athletic coaching will allow you to develop and practically apply the skill, strategy, and play of team sports from a participation and coaching perspective. You will gain new insights into important life skills like successful teamwork, personal accountability, and the development of positive self-esteem. Additional opportunities to engage in content such as developing and managing an athletic team, learning tactical and technical instruction, game management, and understanding game officiating will prepare you for any level of coaching.
