Point Loma Nazarene University exists to provide higher education in a vital Christian community where minds are engaged and challenged, character is modeled and formed, and service becomes an expression of faith. Being of Wesleyan heritage, we aspire to be a learning community where grace is foundational, truth is pursued, and holiness is a way of life.
Our History
PLNU has a rich history of faith and academics. It stretches back 110 years to Dr. Phineas F. Bresee, who responded to the need for a Christian college in the Los Angeles area. Today PLNU is ranked among the best universities in the western region of the United States.
The Future
What comes next for PLNU has always been secure. Our future is made up of new students who come to the university in order to receive a quality education that nurtures their souls as well as their minds. Our future also includes alumni who leave PLNU ready to serve, making the world a better place. Our future is full of opportunity.
