The Office of Community Life is a subset of Student Development Engagement & Retention and is committed to providing quality programs to enhance the student experience at PLNU. Community Life believes that learning occurs both in and out of the classroom. We seek to provide additional avenues of student growth to supplement the important work occurring in the PLNU academic realm. In addition, we believe that development best occurs in a strong web of relationships forming tight-knit communities. Community Life hopes to provide students with a diverse array of opportunities to plug in, get involved, and form lasting relationships.

Student Government (ASB)

Community Life serves as a liason between the Associated Student Body Board of Directors (ASB), Clubs and Organizations and the administration. This office also sponsors the Student Activities Program. The Associated Student Body (ASB) is a constitutional organization comprised of the entire student body. This student board of directors is elected by the students and manages the affairs of the ASB.

The purpose of this governing body is:

• To provide student-sponsored educational, social, cultural, religious and service opportunities for students.
• To foster relationships between students, administration, and faculty
• To coordinate the activities of student organizations
• To foster relationships between ASB members and the community surrounding Point Loma Nazarene University
• To build rapport with other student associations
• To provide opportunities for leadership development
