Educational Specialist (32units) The Educational Specialist Degree is a post-masters program that further develops educational leaders to embrace the complexities of educational leadership and the change process in dynamic educational organizations and learning communities. This program, offered at ALL School of Education locations, builds on the foundation of the Preliminary Tier I Administrative Services credential. Educational Specialist candidates working in the school setting, enroll in this degree program as they complete the Tier II Administrative Services credential. This advanced degree program is ideal for:
- Private school and corporate leaders who seek advanced graduate study focused on organizational development and change.
- Experienced teacher leaders, counselors, and administrators seeking educational/career/salary advancement that may lead to a doctorate.
- Administrators to clear their credential and earn an advanced degree in preparation for a district level position.
Program Distinctions: The Educational Specialist degree may be accepted by other institutions as applicable toward the doctoral degree.
The Educational Specialist degree program is an evidence-based program theoretical principles in coursework are tested out as part of action research. Candidates develop program plans for their graduate level coursework and fieldwork, building on the evidence of prior knowledge, skills, and dispositions that they bring into the program. This instructional design is focused on evidence of significant candidate transformation aligned with the California Professional Standards for Educational Leaders (CPSELs).
