There are many ways to get financial aid at PLNU.  Our Academic Awards, based on GPA and test scores, are available to freshmen and transfer students who are high achievers in the classroom, and range from $4000 to full tuition awards.  Students can also get aid based on involvements (including athletics, speech and debate, music, diversity leadership, as well as financial need!  Students are expected to contact the applicable department to apply for the involvement scholarships mentioned above.

Academic Merit Award/Requirements (weighted GPA + SAT Scores: Math + Critical Reading, or ACT equivalent)


 

university Honors Scholarship - $24,000.00


A total of two Honors Scholarships will be awarded to first-time freshmen.  This award covers most tuition expenses for the year.  All application materials must be received by February 1 to be considered for this award.  We also ask that applicants request an official seven-semester transcript by February 1 if they are complete.  This scholarship is initially awarded for two years and is then renewable annually with a 3.500 GPA at PLNU.



National Merit Scholarship - $4,000.00


National Merit Finalists are eligible for a $4,000 scholarship at PLNU in addition to any of the following academic scholarships listed here. Please note that students must take the PSAT in order to qualify for the National Merit.  Candidates should contact their Admissions Counselor immediately after being notified of their “Finalist” status.  This scholarship is initially awarded for two years and renewable annually with a 3.500 GPA at PLNU.



President's Scholarship - $12,000.00


A total of 30 President’s Scholarships will be awarded to first-time freshmen. All application materials must be received by February 1 to be considered for this award.  We also ask that applicants request an official seven-semester transcript by February 1 if they are complete.  This scholarship is initially awarded for two years and renewable annually with a 3.500 GPA at PLNU.


Trustee's Scholarship - $8,000.00


A total of 40 Trustee’s Scholarships will be awarded to first-time freshmen. All application materials must be received by February 1 to be considered for this award.  We also ask that applicants request an official seven-semester transcript by February 1 if they are complete. This scholarship is initially awarded for two years and renewable annually with a 3.500 GPA at PLNU.



Provost's Scholarship - $4,000.00


Provost’s Scholarships will be guaranteed to first-time freshmen who qualify with a 3.700 weighted GPA, and a 1200 SAT (combined math and critical reading) or a 26 ACT. Transfer students with 11 or fewer units from another institution are also eligible for this scholarship with a 3.700 high school GPA and a 1200 SAT (combined math and critical reading) or a 26 ACT. Transfer students with 12 to 23 units from another institution who have the above high school criteria and a 3.400 unevaluated college transcript GPA are eligible for this scholarship. Transfer students with 24 or more units from another institution are also eligible for this scholarship with a 3.400 unevaluated college transcript GPA. This scholarship is initially awarded for two years and renewable annually with a 3.400 GPA at PLNU.
