PLNU's 960 Kw PV solar system is up and running! These panels are not only beautiful, but they demonstrate PLNU's commitment to creation care. The solar panel system will help contribute to a cleaner, less-polluted environment in California by offsetting electrical generation by conventional fossil fuel.
A photovoltaic project of this size:
- reduces carbon dioxide emissions equal to removing 4,950 cars from our San Diego highways
- will offset the emission of more than 27,900 tons of dangerous pollutants such as NOx, SO2, and CO2
- powers the equivalent of 115 San Diego homes each year
This project is the result of dedicated work from students, faculty, and staff who united on the common interest of bringing clean renewable energy to campus.
