Background

What do you consider your hometown(s)?

Now, I feel like San Diego is my hometown even though I have only lived here for four years. I moved around a lot as a kid, so “home” is a little hard to define for me.

What did you study in college?

I double majored and double minored. My majors were General Science for Pre-pharmacy and Speech Communication. My minors were Business Administration and Food System Management. I’m also studying Dietetics currently.

Best place in San Diego to buy food:

My favorite places to grocery shop are Henry’s and Trader Joes. I love buying fresh fruits and veggies, and these places do a good job of keeping it pretty local. But for buying food just to eat out, I could go on for hours. There is no shortage of good restaurants in San Diego—that’s for sure!

You favorite outdoor activity:

My favorite outdoor activity is probably hiking or laying out at the beach. My boyfriend is an avid surfer, so I spend a lot of time at the beach. I dabble in biking but there are a lot of hills in San Diego, so I try to avoid those areas.

Piece of advice you’d give to someone about living on campus:

Even if you’re shy, you can still get to know people. I am pretty shy in new situations, but Point Loma is full of good people so don’t be afraid to introduce yourself or hang out with people around you. Also, be creative at the Caf.
