What do you consider your hometown(s)?
I grew up in Glendale, AZ, but I’ve officially lived in San Diego, CA longer than anywhere! Count it.
What did you study in college?
B.A. in Communication from PLNU, M.A. in Higher Education Leadership from USD
Best San Diego restaurant:
Although it’s probably a 20 way tie (we have so much good food here), I’ll say Shades Oceanfront Bistro in Ocean Beach. Breakfast, lunch and dinner…and all with an ocean view? Perfect. Let me know if you’re going there…I have a lot of recommendations.
Best San Diego shopping:
No question…Fashion Valley Mall. They have EVERYTHING. But we also have a lot of fun thrift/vintage stores all over Hillcrest, and some amazing outlet shops up in Carlsbad. I could go on, but it would be embarrassing. I really like shopping.
Piece of advice you’d give to someone who’s choosing a college:
Visit campus, and take advantage of EVERYTHING—go to a class, speak with a professor, take the tour, meet with study abroad, eat in the dining hall, talk with your admissions counselor…it’s your chance to see what life will be like for you as a student there, so do it all!
