Azusa Pacific's Cougar Classic

Several of the other team members joined us at Biola for the Sunday tournament. In individual events Amber Briggs was awarded a Finalist in Persuasive Speaking in Open. In debate, despite beginning with two wins and no losses, Nadal and Wanta then dropped to the two teams that ended up in finals at both tournaments and barely missed qualifying for elimination rounds on a tie breaker. However, two of our senior teams did advance to the elimination rounds. Chris Gutierrez and Caitlyn Burford dropped in Octa Finals, and Katie Lucas and Alyssa Pfeiffer won their Octas round and dropped in Quarters. The following PLNU students earned top speaker honors as noted below:

Hannah King: 10th Speaker - Novice

Sarah Motte 8th Speaker - Junior

Grant Beeson 9th Speaker - Junior

Katie Lucas 9th Speaker - Senior

Ian Sharples 12th Speaker - Senior
