Brewed Awakening - Welcoming the Stranger: PLNU immigrant journeys and stories of faith
The Fiscal Policy Institute’s study of large urban areas in the US shows that immigrants make up 28% of San Diego’s workforce. According to the 2010 US national census, over ¼ of Californians were born outside of the United States, almost double the national proportion (13%). These numbers would be larger if a more accurate account of undocumented immigrants could be ascertained. While all of us have left home at one point or another, and many of us have migrated to San Diego to attend or work at PLNU, people who have immigrated from another country have particular gifts and face particular challenges. Come learn from immigrants in our midst about these special challenges.
