Samuel C. Assael, Vice President, Retail Residential Lending
Samuel Assael attended the University of San Diego. He played catcher for 4 years and won West Coast Conference his senior year. Assael signed with the Detroit Tigers when he graduated from USD in 2002.
Assael was hired at JP Morgan Chase as an account executive in 2003. He then joined the broker wholesale channel as a manager in 2008. In May 2013 Assael took a Vice President position with a Union Bank branch in San Diego in Retail Residential Lending with 16 direct report and 35 branches.
In his spare time, Assael enjoys golfing, traveling and relaxing.
Aslan Residential, LLC
Joshua M. Brandt, Director
Mr. Brandt is The Director of Asset Management for Aslan Residential, LLC and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of all the companies’ assets throughout San Diego, Maricopa, and Monterey Counties. Some of Mr Brandt’s primary responsibilities include acquisition analysis, budget development, renovation, and marketing for disposition of Aslan Residential, LLC’s vast portfolio of residential real estate. Since 2009 Mr Brandt has been responsible for the management, development, and disposition of over $250 million worth of residential real estate.
Mr. Brandt began his career with Aslan Residential, LLC just after relocating to San Diego from Philadelphia, Pa in 2008. While living in Philadelphia, Mr Brandt was General Manager for a hospitality management company that had over 150 employees along the Eastern seaboard and accounted for over $15 million in annual revenue.
Mr. Brandt received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in marketing from Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pa where he also played on the Division I varsity men’s baseball team. Mr Brandt is a licensed California real estate agent.
San Diego State University
Ciara Carl, Assistant Women's Basketball Coach
During her one season at Metro State, Ciara Carl helped coach the Roadrunners to 21 victories and a spot in the NCAA Division II tournament, where they advanced to the second round. Under her tutelage, five Metro State players garnered all-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference accolades, including Kristin Valencia, who was named the league's Defensive Player of the Year. As a team, the Roadrunners led the RMAC in scoring defense (51.2 ppg) and limited opponents to a league-worst .350 field-goal percentage.
Carl also witnessed success during her tenure at Cal Poly Pomona from 2010-12, as the Broncos compiled a two-year mark of 47-14 (.770) and made a pair of NCAA DII tournament appearances, including a berth in the Elite Eight in 2011. During that season, Carl assisted in the development of senior guard Reyana Colson, who earned All-America honors after capturing the California Collegiate Athletic Association's Most Valuable Player award.
Prior to arrival at CPP, Carl gained valuable coaching experience during stops with the San Diego Sol, the San Diego Super 60 League, as well as her prep alma mater, Saint Mary's School in Raleigh, N.C.
As a collegian, Carl starred at point guard for PLNU, helping the Sea Lions compile an 83-27 overall record in her final three seasons. During that stretch, PLNU made three consecutive trips to the NAIA tournament, capped by a Final Four appearance in 2005. She still holds the school's career record with 647 assists and ranks second with 277 steals.
Carl received her undergraduate degree in exercise science from PLNU in 2005 and earned her master's of science degree from California University (Pa.) in 2006 with an emphasis in performance enhancement and injury prevention. She later completed an internship at North Carolina State, working with the Wolfpack's strength and conditioning program.
Presently, Carl is in her first year as an assistant coach with the women's program at San Diego State University under new head coach Stacie Terry. Her duties include player development, scouting, and recruiting. "I am so excited to be back in San Diego! I am blessed for the opportunity to learn from a great coach and to be a part of the future success of a strong women's basketball program."
Brandon Dixon, Sales Manager
Brandon Dixon is a Student Athlete Alumn from Azusa Pacific University (2006). While majoring in Athletic Training at APU, Dixon was awarded two Internships with Major League Baseball (Washington Nationals and Colorado Rockies). Dixon began his sales career in 2008, and with Bay Alarm in 2010. Quickly adapting to the Bay Alarm team culture, Dixon flourished while excelling in sales in the Orange County Branch, and being awarded the prestigious Rookie of the Year award for Monthly Re-occurring Revenue/ Self Generated Sales in 2010. During his tenure at Bay Alarm, Dixon has won President Club trips multiple times, including Monterey, CA (2012, 2013), Cancun 2010, and Jamaica (2013). Dixon was quickly offered a position to open Bay Alarm’s 14th Branch, in San Diego (2011). Since then, Dixon has been an important part of the sales team, and moving into a Sales Manager role, developing talented employees to expand the Bay Alarm brand in the San Diego Market.
Will Gowin, President
Will Gowin was a starting free safety at Virginia Tech under Frank Beamer and played in the first 10 win season and first bowl win in school history helping to jump start their football program to the national stage.
Professionally, Gowin started working in the staffing industry with a start-up company called Apex Systems. Three of his friends in college started the firm which he joined during the infancy stage in Richmond, Virginia. He went on to open their Atlanta and Houston offices before going out on his own. Apex Systems recently sold for $660 million.
Since starting Spencer-Gray in 2003, the company has now grown to open offices in San Diego, San Francisco, Houston and Atlanta. Spencer-Gray places professionals for mid-size to large corporations.
Gowin graduated from Virginia Tech in 1992 with a B.S. in Education and has been living with his family in San Diego since 2004.

James Langley, Partner
James Langley began his real estate career at Grubb & Ellis|BRE Commercial in December of 2004. He joined Schwartz Commercial Realty in February 2008 after working at Studley representing office tenants. Prior to Studley, James worked at Grubb & Ellis|BRE Commercial where he spent three years working on one of the largest retail leasing teams in San Diego County.
At Schwartz Commercial Realty, Langley has represented numerous tenants including Pony International, Means & Associates, and Shelburne Sherr.
Langley has a diverse real estate background in land acquisitions and dispositions, office, industrial and retail leasing for landlords and tenants.
Langley enjoyed a successful collegiate baseball career with Drexel University in Philadelphia PA, and Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego CA.
Langley also spent time playing semi professional baseball for the Duluth Huskies in the Northwoods League, a sanctioned summer baseball league comprised of the top college players from across the country. He volunteers his weekends at the Tecolote Youth Baseball Academy where he coaches 13 and 14 year-old kids.
Langley graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.

Megan Miniello, College Recruiter and Sales Trainer
Megan Miniello started her career in sales back in 2011 after she graduated from Cal State Fullerton with a degree in Business Management and an emphasis in Marketing. She decided sales was something she wanted to try out after she worked a six month internship with the Los Angeles Clippers doing marketing and sales. After getting an adequate amount of experience in sales she quickly moved into the recruiting and training world at Bay Alarm Company. She now spends the majority of her time traveling the state visiting different universities looking for top talent in student athletes.
Miniello’s athletic background goes back to high school where she played four years of women’s water polo and swam on the co-ed swim team during the off season. Currently her athletic focus is spent in the gym and talking to a variety of candidates with different athletic backgrounds.
Megan McGurk, Campus Recruiter
Megan McGurk received her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies from the University of San Diego in 2011. She joined Northwestern Mutual in 2012 as their Campus Recruiter, where her primary focus is to recruit and develop quality students for our top-ranked internship program in San Diego. McGurk is an active member of the USD Alumni Association and Kappa Kappa Gamma. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, as well as traveling, being active outdoors, and enjoying life in sunny San Diego.

Dan Negroni is a native New Yorker, lifelong entrepreneur, and graduate of Georgetown University Law Center. Negroni has had a diverse career in business and law. Negroni became an amateur triathlete after surviving cancer in 1994. His journey from waiter to successful attorney and entrepreneur was born out of a love to provide true value to enhancing others. He truly understands the connection of balancing health, fitness, and career into real life success.
Currently, Negroni leverages his successful 20-plus-year career as a senior sales and marketing executive, attorney, and CEO to reinvigorate businesses and people through launchbox. Matt Sparks, Financial Representative
Matt Sparks received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing Studies from Point Loma Nazarene University in 2013. He joined Northwestern Mutual in 2013 as a Financial Representative intern, and this summer, was recognized as one of the top Financial Representative Interns in the company. He has recently gone full time with Northwestern Mutual as of October 2013. In his free time, Sparks enjoys surfing, golfing, and spending time with friends.

Shane Walton, Behavioral Analyst and Assistant Varsity Football Coach
Shane Walton attended the University of Notre Dame, where he received his undergraduate degree in Arts & Letters, Psychology, Sociology, and Computer Applications. There he played football for 4 years and was the team captain, team MVP, and Consensus All-American his senior year. He was then drafted to the St. Louis Rams in 2003. Walton currently works as a Behavior Analyst with F.I.T. (Families in Training) and coaches football at his alma mater, The Bishop's School. He is also founder of the Shane Walton Foundation, which is dedicated to helping youth find opportunities to further their education.

Aaron Wilson, Account Manager- Network Scan, Print, Copy, Audio Visual Technologies
Aaron Wilson is a San Diego native. Wilson graduated from the University San Diego in 2004, where he played baseball. He was drafted in the 24th round by the Philadelphia Phillies as a pitcher. Wilson moved on from baseball after a few years of minor league ball. He began in what was once known as copier sales and is now a full technology consultant with Sharp Electronics San Diego working with scan, print, copy, audio visual, hardware, software, and services for San Diego businesses of all sizes.
Wilson is a lifelong San Diego athlete turned office technology expert with over 4.5 years of direct technology sales experience. Wilson always strives to find a balance between improving the work lives of his business clients and coaching/mentoring young San Diego athletes.

Monté Wylie, Regional Talent Acquisition Specialist
Monté Wylie is the Regional Talent Acquisition Specialist for the San Diego Region of Enterprise Holdings, Inc. As a Talent Acquisition Specialist, he is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and attracting top tier talent to join the award winning team at Enterprise Holdings. In addition to the hiring function, as a member of the talented HR Team, Wylie is also responsible for creating and delivering high impact training modules for the Enterprise management team.
Wylie attended the University of Southern California where he graduated with honors receiving his Bachelor's Degree in American Military History, and earned his Master’s of Science in Management and Leadership from Pepperdine University. As a business leader with Enterprise Holdings, Inc., Monte successfully journeyed through the Management Training program and has been a member of the Enterprise team for over seven years. Throughout his tenure with Enterprise, Wylie has managed several locations including the largest Enterprise location in the company. During his time at Enterprise, he has been successful in leveraging human resources through creative training methods to maximize revenue, profitability, and growth opportunities.
Wylie’s athletic background goes back to high school where he was a 4-Year varsity and team captain. He also played Lacrosse all four years and played two years at the University of Southern California. Wylie is currently an avid cyclist and is looking forward to complete his 10th Century Ride this November.
