Elena Buenrostro, Director of Photography and Co-Founder

Elena Buenrostro received her Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies, with a Film Studies and Theatre Minor from the University of California, San Diego.  She is a writer, videographer, editor and environmentalist at heart.  Ms. Buenrostro's experience stems from an array of video production work within the TV, marketing, music and documentary industries. She's had the privilege of producing and hosting lifestyle & travel TV show series for an international network airing to over 20 million viewers around the world.  Currently, Ms. Buenrostro resides in San Diego, CA and works with clients from conception to final product ensuring that each visual piece stays true to their originator.

Douglas Downing, Senior Producer

Douglas Downing received his Bachelor of Arts in Media Communication and Broadcast Journalism from Point Loma Nazarene University.  He also holds an MBA in Organizational Leadership from Ashford University and a MAPSY in Business Psychology from the University of the Rockies.  Mr. Downing was a Sports and News Producer for Fox 6 for over eleven years.  During that time, he developed sports programming and conducted interviews with coaches and players for various evening sportscasts.  Currently, Mr. Downing is a Producer for Fox 5 San Diego.  From community management to television news writing and producing, connecting with people at their level and where they live is at the heart of Mr. Downing’s skill set.

Jen Lebron Kuhney, Press Secretary

Jen Kuhney earned her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Point Loma Nazarene University. Her first journalism job was at the San Diego Daily Transcript where she covered real estate, then defense. She then joined the U-T San Diego Watchdog team where she reported on topics such as City Hall, public safety, hospitality, and the environment. She left San Diego to work as a digital reporter for The Arizona Republic and was a member of its Pulitzer Prize finalist team for coverage of a wildfire that took the lives of 19 firefighters. She has served as a board member for local chapters of the Asian American Journalists Association and was the director for the CCNMA: Latino Journalists of California Multicultural Journalism Workshop.  Ms. Kuhney returned to San Diego in 2014 and currently works as the Press Secretary for Mayor Kevin L. Faulconer.

Lyle Moran, Reporter

Lyle Moran holds a B.S. in Science from Boston University and recently moved to San Diego from the Boston area.  A reporter for the San Diego Daily Transcript, Mr. Moran distinguishes himself with in-depth investigative pieces about a variety of issues.  Prior to his appointment at the Daily Transcript, he covered state politics for the Associated Press in Boston.

Fox 5 San Diego

Heidi Ortlip, Senior Producer 

 Heidi Ortlip received her Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism from Point Loma Nazarene University.  She is a Senior Producer for Tribune Broadcasting at Fox 5 News San Diego.  Ms. Ortlip produces live news segment and oversees a team of junior producers and writers.  She also books and produces segments on entertainment, fashion, beauty, and health.

Pearson Sharp, Anchor / News Writer

Pearson Sharp holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English Language and Literature from Lancaster University, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and Creative Writing from the University of Colorado.  Mr. Sharp describes himself as a multi-linguist of the writing world, fluent in many different styles of writing, including 19th Century prose, mad-men marketing strategies, editing, designing, teaching, leading, and even German.  He was previously a Senior News Writer for KUSI Television, where he worked with anchors and reporters to write stories for broadcasting.  Currently, Mr. Sharp is an Anchor and News Writer for One America News Network.  There, he writes, edits, and tracks packages, records voice overs for stories, and stacks the rundown for daily newscasts.
