Felena Hanson – Hera Hub
Felena is a long-time entrepreneur and marketing maven. Her latest venture, Hera Hub, is a spa-inspired shared workspace for female entrepreneurs. This as-needed, flexible work and meeting space provides a productive environment for women who primarily work from home. Hera Hub members have access to a professional space to meet with clients and to connect and collaborate with like-minded business owners, thus giving them the support they need to be prosperous. The first San Diego location is conveniently located in Sorrento Valley. By the end of 2012 Hera Hub will have additional locations in Mission Valley & Carlsbad.
Felena was recently recognized for her leadership by the local chapter of the National Organization of Women Business Owners when she received the 2012 “Women Business Owner of the Year” award.
Dan Cohen – CBS San Diego
Born in San Bernardino, California, Dan Cohen always knew the path he wanted to pursue professionally. He jump started his career while still in college working for WFLD-TV, Chicago’s Fox station. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign as a broadcast journalism major with a specialization in political science and sociology. Mr. Cohen is a three-time Emmy Award winning Anchor of News 8 morning show, News 8 at 6, and News 8 at 11 AM.
Nikki Jimenez – Focuscom Inc.
Nikki Jimenez is an Account Manager with Focuscom Inc., a boutique public relations and public affairs firm in San Diego that specializes in ethnic and minority community outreach. She also serves as the Social Media Coordinator for the "Breakthrough Specialist," Lisa Nichols, at Motivating the Masses. Nikki remains active in the community by serving as Vice President of the Asian American Journalists Association and as a freelance writer for Risen Magazine, a faith-based magazine bringing strories of faith, hope, and love, to the masses. She graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University in 2009 with a BA in Broadcast Journalism and Public Relations.
Salvatore Giametta – Chief of Staff at County of San Diego
Salvatore Giametta graduated for San Diego State University with a double major in Political Science and Journalism. As Chief of Staff Giametta is responsible for the overall management and day-to-day operations of Supervisor Ron Robert’s office. Prior to joining Team Roberts, he was the Vice President of Public Affairs and Communications for San Diego Convention and Visitors Bureau. San Diego County’s Hotel-Motel Association’s prestigious Gold Key Award, as well as the San Diego Press Club’s award for outstanding contributions in the field of public relations. Mr. Giametta is also partner/investor of Brooklyn Girl Eatery in the Mission Hills area.
Hugh Scanlon – Northwest Mutual Financial Network
Hugh Scanlon is a representative with the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, who’s mission is to develop enduring relationships with clients by providing expert guidance for a lifetime of financial security. He works with clients to identify chief financial security needs and then focuses on solutions that can help make those financial goals a reality. Mr. Scanlon graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University in 2010.
Kendra Strey – AAA Publications
Kendra Strey is an editor on the seven regional travel magazines produced by the Auto Club of Southern California in Costa Mesa, including Westways magazine and Texas Journey magazine. She is also a contributting blogger for AAA National's blog, AAATravelViews.com. Her involvement in newspaper, book and magazine platforms has yielded well-rounded experiences in managing publishing projects. She specializes in manuscript evaluation, contract negotiation, editing and art research. Ms. Strey graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University in 2002 with a BA in Journalism.
Robert Arends – San Diego Convention & Visitors Bureau
Robert Arends is a Public Relations Manager at San Diego Convention and Visitors Bureau, the official travel resource for the San Diego region which operates three visitors centers conveniently located in downtown San Diego, at the California Welcome Center in the Village of La Jolla. His responsibilities include publicizing to local, national and international travel media the myriad of activities and story ideas on the island of Coronado and throughout East County, from the foothills and mountain communities such as Julian to the Anza-Borrego Desert.

Embellishment is a full floral and event design company providing floral and décor for weddings, corporate meetings and incentives, social celebrations, in which Dawn Stone acts as both the owner and designer. She has 15 years of interior design experience, which ended when her passion for design lead her to open Embellishment in 2006.

Karen Hutchens is the President of Hutchens PR, which is a full service public relations and marketing communications firm specializing in the development and execution of communications strategy that helps clients achieve their goals and deliver a consistent return on investment. She has over 25 years of experience in business management and had expertise in issue and crisis management and public relations strategy development. Ms. Hutchens plays an active role in the San Diego community and is a member of the Board of Directors United Way of San Diego County, The Rueben H. Fleet Science Museum, and CleanTECH San Diego.
