If for any reason you realize you cannot attend, up to the day of the event, contact The Offices of Strengths and Vocation (located on the 3rd floor of the Ryan Learning Center) between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., in person, by phone at 619-849-2446, or by e-mail osv@pointloma.edu.  Note:  The office closes at 4:30 p.m.

Signing up for this event constitutes your commitment to attend. The purpose of this event is to help you develop potential for long-term success by forging the right connections. A significant expense is made by OSV for all of our networking events. When individuals no-show, this impacts and is a discourtesy to hosts, planners, sponsors, and the other students. Kaitlin Bartlett, Graphic Designer

Kaitlin Bartlett graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University with a B.A. in Graphic Design.  She was an ambitious student who was ready to get her feet on the ground and running, so she started her own photography and freelance design business while in college.  Ms. Bartlett spent the last two years honing her design skills, working as a Creative Director for Broken Yolk Café, a growing restaurant franchise.  She specializes in outdoor and natural light wedding and lifestyle photography. She has a deep passion for both of her careers, and they complement each other well.   Ms. Bartlett is always striving to continue to grow, learn and broaden her horizons not only in work but in her day to day life.

Renee Candler, Assistant Store Manager

Renee Candler holds a Bachelor of Science in Merchandising and Product Development, Design, from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM).  She has an eclectic resume in the areas of fashion and Interior design, boasting leadership positions at Macy’s, La Chica Chic, Rico International, Williams-Sonoma, Inc., and West Elm, a subsidiary of Williams-Sonoma.  Currently the Ms. Candler is the Assistant Store Manager for West Elm. 

The Rock Church

Ericka Christensen, Interior Designer

Ms. Christensen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design from Point Loma Nazarene University.  She began her career working as the office manager at San Diego Office Design and is now a Design Assistant at the Rock Church. Her duties at The Rock Church include assisting the lead designer in design updates to the current building, designing future campuses, assisting with design coordination of events and assisting with Rock your City plans.

Jennifer Cooper, College Representative

Jennifer Cooper has over 15 years in luxury brand management working mainly in the areas of hospitality and real estate development.  She began her career on the east coast working on projects at The Greenbriar in West Virginia, Turkes & Caicos Sporting Club at Ambergris Cay and the Ford Plantation in Savannah, Georgia.  Her move West increased her desire to align with the Fashion and Design Industries after a short stint at the Hotel Del Coronado.  Ms. Cooper joined FIDM in 2010. In her position, Ms. Cooper promotes the FIDM’s exciting degree programs and career opportunities for FIDM’s 26 majors.  FIDM is a private specialized, four year college dedicated to developing graduates for the global industries of Fashion, Visual Arts, Interior Design, and Entertainment.  FIDM’s WASC and NASAD accredited college is located in California, with campuses in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Orange County, and San Diego.

Wide Eyes Design

Amanda Franz, Owner and Creative Director

Amanda Franz is the Owner and Creative Director of Wide Eyes Design.  Wide Eyes Design is a boutique stationery brand and design studio based in Southern California.  Ms. Franz completed her education at Point Loma Nazarene University as a graphic design major with a concentration in advertising.  Shortly after graduating from Point Loma, Ms. Franz got a job as a junior graphic designer at BXC a branding, marketing, and advertising studio.  The idea for Wide Eyes Design began shortly after she started her first graphic design job.

Ms. Franz started dabbling in wedding invitation design as a hobby and to keep her creativity flowing! What started as a hobby turned into a full time career.  Ms. Franz feels very lucky to have found her passion in something she loves doing.

Wide Eyes Design specializes in wedding invitations, cards, and miscellaneous paper goods.  All of her goods are printed on heavyweight paper stock and her stationery products are coupled with classic envelopes.  She takes great care in choosing all of her stock and printing methods to ensure her designs come to life in a way that's unique, durable, and beautiful.  Ms. Franz products feature whimsical, rustic, and vintage designs that express her style that feels both organic and timeless. She thrives off of bold pops of color and emphasizes her love for lay out design with strong use of typography. 

Ms. Franz strongly believes life's personal stories and moments are best captured through the gift of a hand-written card or note.  She hopes that her products inspire you to get creative, think outside the box, and share these moments with others.  Her mission is to always keep her eyes wide to all the beauty that the world has to offer and incorporate this motto within her line of printed goods.

Chelsea Hamon, Partner and Creative Director

Chelsea Hamon is a graduate of Fort Lewis College with a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design and Marketing.  Ms. Hamon believes, “Your brand speaks for itself.  Make sure it says the right thing.  Precisely what you imagined your brand could be, only more so.”

Onairos Design

Alina Leyton, Interior Designer

Alina Leyton holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFN) in Interior Design from the Design Institute of San Diego.  She began her career at the fashion Giant, Forever 21, as the Merchandising Manager of the Bakersfield location.  Then switching over the Interior realm, she interned at Onairos Design.  Onairos Design is a high profile boutique design firm specializing in hospitality, mixed-use and commercial design. Ms. Leyton assisted Principal Designer, Michael Soriano, on all phases of design including design development, product research, FF&E specification, vendor and client relations, site verification and final installation. 

Tamara O'Horgan Interiors

Tamara O'Horgan, Owner and Principal Designer

Owner and principal designer, Tamara O'Horgan, was born and educated in California. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Interior Design from the Interior Designers Institute of Newport Beach, California. Ten years of banking experience in conjunction with nine years of extensive experience in a prestigious La Jolla design firm has enhanced Ms. O’Horgan’s knowledge and expertise in the many facets involved in project management and designing a custom home.

Ms. O’Horgan’s favorite thing to do is to bring a home to life.  Her impeccable sense of style and ability to create beauty came at an early age.  As a child, she transformed cardboard boxes into castles; a transformation that included every detail and delight: coordinating furniture, bedding, window treatments, even miniature art and accessories, in essence, she brought warm life to her project.  Ms. O’Horgan’s passion brings your style to the forefront, creating something that is completely unique and personable.  Her hands-on design approach seamlessly leads the project from initial concept through completion, going beyond what is expected, resulting in a personal retreat that is a complete reflection of you at your very best.

Founded in 2006, Tamara O'Horgan Interiors is a Southern California-based design company, offering complete interior design services for both large and small projects. The professional team at Tamara O'Horgan Interiors is friendly, experienced, and dedicated to providing outstanding service to their clients. Working closely with all parties, such as contractors, architects, furniture specialists, fabric sources, and of course, homeowners, Ms. O’Horgan and her associates are methodically involved in every aspect of interior design. 

Ms. O’Horgan lives in Cardiff-by-the-Sea with her family.  She is an avid volleyball player, traveler, and can be found playing guitar with friends.  She has been an active member of the American Society of Interior Designers for 14 years.
