Wesleyan Theology and Contemporary Ministry

How can we lead our churches into a deeper, profoundly transforming encounter with God through Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit? We will engage in Scripture reading, prayer, and theological conversation together in our attempt to learn from contemporary interpreters of John Wesley's ministry and message to help us answer this critical question.

In that light, we'll explore such questions as:

  • What is the nature of authentic encounter with God?
  • What does it mean practically to teach and to live the biblical proclamation that 'God is love'?
  • Is it possible for us to love God with all our beings, and to love all neighbors as ourselves?
  • How do the worship, preaching and spiritual formation that occur in our churches relate us to the world of God's creation outside the church walls?

Instructors:

  • Dr. Michael Lodahl, Professor of Theology, PLNU
  • Dr. Fred Sanders, Professor of Theology, Torrey Honors Institute, Biola University
  •  With guest lectures from: Dr. Frank Carver & Dr. Herb Prince

Seminar Registration Fees:
