The Forensics Team had another terrific outing this weekend, competing against 22 other Universities at Biola University in La Mirada. PLNU came in Second Place in the 4 year University Division behind an outstanding team from Texas Southern University.

In individual events, two of our recent recruits have already qualified for the National Tournament to be held in April in Alabama. You are required to finish 1st, 2nd or 3rd, in your event at a minimum of three large tournaments. Most students go all year without ever achieving that distinction. Last year we were fortunate enough to have two students qualify for the National Individual Events Tournament. This year we have already had two Point Loma students accomplish that difficult feat in the first three tournaments that they have attended. Congratulations to Nathan Brisby for qualifying his After Dinner Speech on Opera, and to Jennifer Burgess who has already qualified in both Extemporaneous and Impromptu Speaking. The other details of which students did well in which events follows. Thanks to each of you for helping these students. You might be surprised to learn how much they bring from your classrooms into their speeches.
