Wheaton University, Wheaton, Illinois

One of Pt. Loma Nazarene University's top senior division debate teams, Tim Kamermayer and Griffith Vertican, won yet another debate tournament this past weekend. Kamermayer and Vertican traveled to Wheaton University near Chicago and competed against 40 teams from over a dozen states to win the Wheaton tournament. They beat some very difficult teams in their preliminary rounds and elimination rounds, including Cedarville University in Quarter Finals, Colorado College in Semi Finals and the University of Notre Dame in the final round. Tim Kamermayer also won the Seventh Place Speaker award.

Professor Konrad Hack, former assistant director of the Point Loma forensics program for five years, is now the director of forensics at Wheaton University, after serving a number of years as the Azusa Pacific University Forensics Director. The PLNU team would like to extend its thanks to Professor Hack and the entire Wheaton team for housing and feeding the two Point Loma debaters and waiving the entry fees and judging fees making it possible to add the tournament to our schedule.
