Department of Family and Consumer Sciences

Who doesn't love food? Food, health, and wellness affect all of us. If you have a passion for these subjects, like science, and envision yourself sharing your growing knowledge of nutrition with others, consider a dietetics major!

According to the American Dietetic Association's Web site, “Dietetics is the science and art of applying the principles of food and nutrition to health.”

PLNU offers a major in dietetics through the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences, leading to a B.S. degree. If you major in dietetics, you will take courses in nutrition, physiology, biology, chemistry, food science, and health.
