Music and Ministry
Department of Music
Music and faith are richly intertwined. If you have a passion for sharing music and forming communities of worship, consider a concentration in music and ministry!
PLNU offers several majors in the Department of Music, including music, composition, music education, and vocal, piano, and instrumental performance. The Department also offers a major in music with a concentration in music and ministry. The core curriculum for all music majors is the same and includes courses in music history, music theory, world music, and faith, life, and music.
Earning a B.A. in music with a concentration in music and ministry requires courses in worship ministry, instrumental worship, hymnology, and more. In addition, it requires an internship. It is also recommended that students earn a minor in youth ministry, theatre, communication, or media communication.
