Overview

PLNU offers a physical education major in its Department of Kinesiology. The goal of the program is to give you the necessary training and understanding of the body and physical fitness, to help them shape the lives of students in primary and secondary schools as fully-credentialed physical educators.

Courses focus on kinesiology (the study of body movement), strength training, sports psychology, and mental health. Students will learn and understand the basic rules of team sports and learn strategies for coaching and officiating. As part of general education requirements, students will choose between a variety of different sports to play, including tennis, volleyball, badminton, swimming, and golf.
