Tina Sayers

Tina Sayers, voice

  • Assistant Professor, voice

  • Bachelor of Music in Musical Studies, University of Redlands
  • Master of Musical Arts, emphasis in Voice, Manhattan School of Music

A classically trained soprano, Tina has sung on both opera and musical theatre stages and especially enjoys performing chamber concerts and art song recitals.  Her voice has been described as "...bright and melodious; perfect for the colors of Bach, Handel and Mozart, but with the pitch accuracy and intelligence to  perform modern repertoire with skill and grace."  Although Tina continues to enjoy performing, she long ago realized that her passion lies in teaching others the art of singing.  She joined the PLNU faculty in 2004.  In 2010, she created the Community Center for the Arts (CCFA), a non-profit outreach program hosted by Nestor United Methodist Church in south San Diego. CCFA provides a place for community members to teach, learn and experience music, dance, art and theatre.  Tina serves as the Executive & Artistic Director.  In her "spare" time Tina enjoys spending time with her husband Jay and their two young children, Sedona and Parker.
