A passionate chamber musician, Travis Maril has been described as playing with “persuasive, stylish ardor.”  He was a top prizewinner at the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, has had performances broadcast on "Performance Today," and has recorded for Naxos. His chamber music partners have included the concertmasters of the Cleveland Orchestra, Los Angeles and Rochester Philharmonics, principal players of the Cincinnati, Pittsburgh and San Diego Symphonies, the Miró String Quartet and members of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center.  Recent festival appearances include repeat performances at  La Jolla Music Society's SummerFest and Mainly Mozart as well as the Ojai Music Festival, Schleswig-Holstein, and Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival.  

Locally he appears frequently with Art of Elan, Renga, Camarada, the Five Ensemble, and as a substitute with the San Diego Symphony.  In addition to his appointment at PLNU, Travis is also String Coordinator at SDSU’s School of Music and Dance and Co-Director of SDSU’s String Academy for pre-college students.
