The Department of Sociology & Social Work prepares students to be effective leaders in the community and workforce. Each year students are hired by their internship sites and graduates secure professional employment shortly after graduation.

The bachelor's degree allows for careers in public relations, human services, probation and criminal justice, social work, social welfare, counseling, health care administration, research design and many other rewarding fields.

Many graduates continue their education at the post-graduate level in sociology, social work, and law at school such as the University of California, Berkeley, the University of Chicago, University of Colorado, Duke University, University of Southern California, San Diego State University, and Cal Western School of Law.
