Program Overview

apply_now.jpgThe preliminary single subject credential (33 units) prepares entry level teachers with a rich blend of research-based learning theory and structured opportunities to apply their learning in field-work and student teaching experiences in middle school or high school classrooms supported by expert PLNU faculty and practicing master teachers.

PLNU preliminary credential candidates develop the knowledge, skills, and dispositions to be highly qualified, higher performing educators of noble character in an age of assessment and accountability for student learning.

This credential program is ideal for:

  • Undergraduates at PLNU's main campus aspiring to teach a K-12 single subject usually at the middle school or high school
  • Post B.A. graduates who are seeking to teach a single subject.
  • Those seeking a new career in the field of education.
