Any undergraduates who have a genuine love for ALL children and sense a calling to teach are invited to seek more information about becoming a part of this exciting and growing field of education.
Potential Special Education teachers are strongly encouraged to enroll in EDU404, Foundations of Special Education and Students with Disabilities, as early as their freshman or sophomore year, to confirm their interest in pursuing a career in special education.
- Cross-Disciplinary Studies majors who are truly called to teach diverse populations will find a wide open job market and a rewarding career ahead of them.
- Family and Consumer Science majors and Psychology majors often have the academic preparation and disposition to serve students with special needs.
There is also a growing need for Special Education teachers with content specific majors such as mathematics, science, and English who sense a calling to teach special student populations at the middle school or high school level.
