Gain hands-on experience in international development programs and projects in Ghana.

The primary objective of this travel program is to provide you with an opportunity to visit the Human Factor Leadership Academy (HFLA) in Akatsi, Ghana. Learning through group discussions, presentations, cultural tours, and travels forms a significant part of this trip to Ghana.
While in Akatsi engaging in your cultural immersion tours, you will also be involved in the activities of the HFLA. You will have the opportunity to work with the children and teachers at HFLA -- teaching the children academic subjects, skills and faith-related concepts. You will be able to visit the Mayor and interact with him regarding the community development plans for the Akatsi District and the various challenges the town faces. You will also have the chance to visit the District Education Office to meet with the District Director of Education in Akatsi.
It is a team venture and we will do everything possible to make it memorable for you!
Dates: May 6th - June 6th, 2013
Cost: appr. $4,500
Courses: ECO470 (4units) Contemporary Economic Development - counts towards required upperdivision requirement for International Development Studies and Economics Majors OR ECO460 (4units) Applied Econometrics
