Healer's Hands

Healer's Hands serves Rady Children's Convalescent Hospital which specializes in care for medically fragile children.  When we go to the hospital, we generally do crafts with the children and sometimes read to them.  Most of these children are on ventilators or oxygen all the time, they all have feeding tubes directly into their stomachs, and some of them are deaf, blind or both.  However, we treat each child like they can see, hear, and understand what we are doing.  Because of their disabilities, the activities we can do are severely limited.  However, just talking with them and allowing them to feel the materials are beneficial for their well-being.  We love them to the greatest extent we know how.
