Give a summer of service in a church in either the Hawaiian Islands or San Francisco.

Interns serve full-time for 10 to 11 weeks from approximately May 20th to the first week of August.  Beneath the tourist allure of our host locations there are deeper realities: beautiful and challenging cultural diversity, children and teens in need of mentors and discipleship, high cost-of-living and very limited church staffing. We go to be a blessing.  We are invited into Kingdom work in a new and challenging environment, away from many of our usual comforts and distractions.  We learn about lives of service to Jesus Christ.

Interns typically serve in one or more of these areas:

  • Youth Ministry
  • Children’s Ministry
  • Music Ministry
  • Community Outreach
  • Office/Administrative Work

PLNU provides for intern training, a guided 3-day retreat for rest, reflection, and recreation as well as travel to/from the internship and a stipend for personal expenses.  Host churches provide ministry supervision, room and board.
