Steps to Apply for Financial Aid
Financial aid for graduate students at PLNU consists primarily of unsubsidized federal direct loans. Degree-seeking graduate students who are 1) enrolled in three or more units per semester, 2) meet the university's Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) policy, 3) are in good standing with prior federal loans, and 4) are citizens of the United States (or eligible non-citizens) are eligible for federal direct loans. Qualifying graduate students may borrow up to $20,500 every two consecutive semesters, depending on the student’s calculated budget for the award term.
Step 1:
File a FAFSA
- Go to www.fafsa.gov
- Use the 12/13 FAFSA to apply for aid if your first semester is before Summer 2013 Quad 2

Loans
A loan is financial aid that must be repaid with interest. Loans are a type of need-based aid, meaning they are given based on financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Other Programs
In addition to need-based aid listed above, PLNU offers other aid programs such as VA Benefits and ROTC, Yellow Ribbon Program (the GI Bill), Vocational Rehabilitation, Federal Work Study, and outside scholarships.

You will need to fill out the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). You can complete this online at the FAFSA website.
