Smee Hall provides much needed space for pastoral conferences and training; creates a central space for current students preparing for the ministry to be mentored by faculty and staff; and allows for more collaboration between the Center for Pastoral Leadership and the School of Theology and Christian Ministry. Smee Hall is located in the heart of campus, symbolizing PLNU’s commitment to its Christ-centered mission and Nazarene heritage. The building is located next to the Ryan Library and connected to the Wesleyan Center, which is located in Ryan Library.
Significance of the Name
Smee Hall received its name thanks to a generous lead gift from Gary and Debbie Smee of Porterville, California. In this commitment, it is the Smees’ desire to honor Gary’s grandfather, Dr. Roy Smee, and uncle, Mr. Bud Smee, both longtime Nazarene church members and leaders.
