2011 Commencement

Remember the excitement of your own graduation from high school or college? Do you recall the thrill of coming to the end of a challenging season of your life into one that promised new open doors and experiences? That same excitement and anticipation will soon visit the campus of Point Loma Nazarene University.
The activities surrounding PLNU’s commencement begin Thursday, May 12, and culminate with the actual commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 14. The university understands that these events will create traffic and parking congestion for our closest neighbors.
It is anticipated that the heaviest traffic and congestion will occur in the hours leading up to and following the commencement ceremonies. On Saturday, May 14, graduate student commencement begins at 10 a.m. Undergraduate ceremonies begin at 1 and 4 p.m. To assist in easing any traffic problems, PLNU is contracting with the San Diego Police Department’s traffic division to provide traffic services following the ceremonies. These services will allow a more expedient flow of vehicles from campus. This departure process is usually completed within one hour.
Thank you for your patience during the upcoming commencement activities. Please visit our website at www.pointloma.edu/commencement for additional information.
