APU Concordia Tournament October 2010
Event October 15-17, 2010
In a tournament, hosted this past weekend at Azusa Pacific University by APU and Concordia Irvine, we sent a smaller squad of five of our senior teams to compete in debate against 38 other senior teams. Of those five PLNU teams, three teams advance into the elimination rounds. Barbara Gausewitz and Ciera Wilson advanced to Octa Finals. Daniel Nadal and James Wilson advanced further to Quarter Finals. Kim Jensen and recent transfer student Alex Pineda advanced further still to Semi Finals. MacLean Andrews and Michelle Diaz just missed advancing to the Octa Finals (top 16 teams) on a tie breaker.
Out of nearly 80 individual competitors in this senior division, the top 20 debate speakers were recognized. Daniel Nadal received 5th place. Barbara Gausewitz received 6th place. And Kim Jensen received 12th place. Special thanks to the coaches and alumni that showed up to help out.
