Closure of Arcadia Regional Center

As a result of a multi-year comprehensive assessment, PLNU’s Arcadia Regional Center is being scheduled to close. PLNU will conduct a teach-out of the degree programs currently offered there. PLNU will work with students to offer the final courses needed to complete their degrees or will help individuals to transition to other universities in the area.

This difficult decision was made due to a number of factors, including a saturation of competitor schools in the area, a declining number of teachers seeking graduate degrees in the Los Angeles County region, and the high cost of operation in the Los Angeles basin.

“The Arcadia Regional Center has been an important part of PLNU since our campus moved from the Pasadena area to San Diego in 1973,” said PLNU’s provost Dr. Kerry Fulcher. “We are grateful for the foundation those who have worked in the Pasadena/Arcadia area over the course of our history have provided, and we commit, as we mark PLNU’s 110th anniversary this year, to continue to take the faithful steps necessary to sustain PLNU for the future.”
