Dr. Emmett Presents Research at the International Community for Christian Teacher Education

Tuesday, May 1, 2012
Dr. Josh Emmett, assistant professor of education at PLNU’s Bakersfield Regional Center, presented the findings of a research study at the biennial conference of the International Community for Christian Teacher Education in May. His presentation was entitled “The Roots of Low Self-Efficacy for Math in Middle School Students.” The research was conducted as part of a yearlong effort, in collaboration with Dan Hall, former PLNU assistant professor of education, to provide daily math instruction during the 2011-12 school year for a class of 7th grade students. The goal was to support their development in learning math while studying the causes of low self-efficacy for math. Dr. Corey McKenna, PLNU professor of education, also contributed to the research study.
