Liberal Studies Major Changes Name and Adds Track
Beginning in the 2012-13 academic year, the liberal studies major will be offered under a new name: cross-disciplinary studies. It will feature an additional track called integrated education that does not include the teaching methods courses. The new track will be designed for students who want an interdisciplinary bachelor’s degree without the blended teacher education feature. This new track offers a diverse and broad education to the many students who have not chosen a specific career path. Students will be exposed to a number of departments and courses. Departments on campus worked collaboratively to offer 12-unit concentrations and a final capstone course that integrates each student’s emphasis of study, personal strengths, educational philosophies, and faith.
