PLNU Exhibits Successful Art Alumni

Thursday, September 6, 2012

Sculpture is an invitational exhibition representing two decades of alumni from PLNU’s Department of Art and Design. Professors of art at PLNU David Adey, Lael Corbin, and Jim Skalman, will curate the exhibition.

“The artists brought together for this exhibition are working with varied materials and methods, but all were outstanding students in the sculpture program while at PLNU,” said Corbin. “They all have gone on to receive Masters of Fine Arts degrees, are current candidates, or have been recognized for their work with an award, honor, or exhibition from a major institution.”

Selections from the group will be chosen for representation at the 2012 Art San Diego Contemporary Art Fair. All of the artists will then participate in an exhibition in Keller Gallery at PLNU.

According to Art San Diego's website: "Last year’s Fair received record attendance with over 8,000 collectors, curators, museum directors and art enthusiasts. Strong sales were reported by galleries and the event received extraordinary media attention, and has become one of the largest attended cultural events in San Diego."

The SD Contemporary Art Fair will be held at Balboa Park Sept. 7-9 and in PLNU’s Keller Art Gallery Sept. 13 - Nov 18.
