PLNU Helps Give Community a Facelift

Monday, October 18, 2010

(San Diego, Calif. – Oct. 18, 2010) – On Oct. 23, over 120 PLNU faculty, staff, students and their families gave the community a facelift.

They worked at Wilson Middle School, a school that has been deeply hit by the budget cuts and needs help in a variety of ways.  They also worked with a local park to help paint out graffiti, plant new plants, and help make it a safer place for kids to play. Painting and landscaping projects were also a part of the day.

Over the past 15 years, 5,000 FaceLift volunteers have helped about 17,000 people clean and beautify their houses.

FaceLift is funded by the City of San Diego Redevelopment Agency with support from the City Heights Project Area Committee and Councilmember Todd Gloria. Other financial sponsors include State Farm, Home Depot, CDC Small Business Loans, City Heights Town Council, and Point Loma Nazarene University.
