Dr. Holly Irwin serves as Vice President for Mission and Calling at Point Loma Nazarene University, where she leads strategic initiatives that integrate the university’s Wesleyan-Holiness identity, Christian mission, and vocational calling across all aspects of campus life. As a member of the President’s Cabinet, she leads efforts to deepen engagement with PLNU’s Christian mission and supports initiatives that foster the integration of faith, learning, and calling across the university. Her work fosters a culture that encourages students and employees alike to explore the intersection of faith, learning, and purposeful living.
Dr. Irwin has been part of the PLNU community for over 25 years, serving in a wide range of academic leadership roles including vice provost, college dean, department chair, and professor of psychology. She has provided oversight for academic policy, student success initiatives, faculty development, and Commencement, and played a key role in launching new programs including PLNU’s first doctoral degree.
She holds a Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology from the University of Louisville and is completing an M.A. in Christian Ministry at PLNU. In 2022, she responded to a call to pastoral ministry and now co-pastors Lakeside Community Church of the Nazarene with her husband. She brings to her role a deep commitment to Christian higher education, leadership formation, and the flourishing of students, faculty, and staff through a shared sense of calling and mission.
