JC Hurtado-Prater joined the Fermanian School of Business (FSB) as an Adjunct Professor in 2020 and was hired as a full-time Associate Professor of leadership in 2022. JC was promoted to Associate Professor of both Leadership and Management, and now, for Fall 2025, he will be serving as Associate Dean of External Relations. A veteran of the United States Army, he came to PLNU with more than 20 years of experience in nonprofit organizations and management consulting. Hurtado-Prater has provided training and consulting services for Fortune 500 organizations and large governmental agencies, including Johnson + Johnson, Cisco, the US Department of the Interior, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the US Navy, Park Hyatt, and more. Hurtado-Prater earned his B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles, his M.B.A. from Saint Joseph's College of Maine, and his D.B.A. in Management from Indiana Wesleyan University.
